Book Babies 2.1

on September 20, 2012

(One of the programs I rotate through for our younger group)

Baby Hop from the CD Diaper Gym

Snuggle up together, babies in your lap.

Snuggle up together. Clap, Clap, Clap!

Snuggle up together, don’t you nap.

Snuggle up together. Tap, Tap, Tap!

You’re working out together, baby don’t stop!

You’re working out together. Hop, Hop, Hop!

(repeat first two verses)

Now our song is over, get ready to stop.

Now our song is over, so Hop, Hop, Hop!

Book

Here Goes a Turtle

(Use arm as hill, suite actions to animals)

Here goes a turtle up the hill-

Creep, creep, creep, creep.

Here goes a rabbit up the hill-

Boing, boing, boing, boing!

Here goes an elephant up the hill-

Tromp, tromp, tromp, tromp.

Here goes a snake up the hill-

Slither, slither, slither, slither.

Here comes a rock down the hill-

Boom, boom, boom, boom, (bounce, then fall over on crash!)

CRASH!

(printed in B&W it looks red!)

Little Red Tractor

(modified from ‘Little Red Wagon’. Kids don’t know what wagons are anymore!)

Bouncing up and down in my little red tractor

Bouncing up and down in my little red tractor

Bouncing up and down in my little red tractor

Bouncing all day long!

Scooping up some dirt…

Lifting Dirt up high…

Waving to my friends…

Five Little Monkeys

(traditional)

 Five little monkeys

Swingin’ in the tree,

Teasing Mr. Alligator,

“You can’t catch me!”

“You can’t catch me!”

Along comes Mr. Alligator,

Swimming very slowly

and…SNAPPED that monkey right out of the tree.

(repeat with remaining monkeys)

Book

Put Your Finger On…  (from the CD Feel the Music by Parachute Express)

Put your finger on, put your finger on, put your finger on

your…nose!

Put your finger on, put your finger on, put your finger on

your…nose!

Turn around and clap clap,

Turn around and clap clap,

Turn around and clap clap,

Turn around and clap clap.

Continue with other body parts

Here is the train

Here is the train (hold up fist)

And here is the track (hold out arm)

Chugga-chugga forward (run fist along arm)

And chugga-chugga back

Chugga-chugga chugga-chugga

Chugga, Choo-Choo (pull imaginary cord)

Up goes the smoke,

And so do you! (Jump or lift baby!)

Say Goodnight to the Animals

(I use stuffed animals as a visual for this. Tune is close to ‘Down by the banks of the hanky panky’)

In the farmyard at the end of the day,

All the animals politely say,

“Thank you for my food today.”

The cow says “Moo.”

(Continue with other animals)

Then the barn is locked up tight.

And the farmer quietly says, “Goodnight.”

-End with Bubble machine for duration of Personal Penguin from the CD Blue Moo by Sandra Boynton-
