Opening: Shake My Sillies Out – Raffi

Book: A Girl and Her Gator – Sean Bryan

1611450322.1.zoom

(Super fun, and double G’s!)

Puppet: Bark George (from the book by Jules Feiffer)

9780062051851

(This is always a hit, any way you present it)

Book: Good Night, Gorilla – Peggy Rathman

GoodnightGorilla1

(Light on words, it’s kind of fun to be able to talk the kids through the pages of just illustration though.)

Song: Goldfish – Laurie Berkner

(This was a hit, kids love pretending to sleep!)

Book: Go Away Big Green Monster – Ed Emberly

GoAway1

(One girl wanted to know if he was a mean monsters, pretty engaging for them.)

Activity: Bubblegum tune: Lollipop by the Chordettes

Let’s blow a big bubble with our gum!

(Blow between hands and spread them further with each breath.)

Oh no! We blew it too big! Pop! (clap hands together)

Now Our hands are stuck together!

(clap hands in time to the song, on each ‘gum’ and the second sticky,

pretending the gum pulls them back together.)

Bubblegum, bubblegum,

Sticky, sticky bubblegum.

Bubblegum!

-unstick!-

(continue blowing and poping on other parts of the body, or clothing)

(The kids really liked this, especially giving suggestions for where the gum would get stuck next… the eyes got the biggest giggles.)

Book: Smash! Mash! Crash! There goes the trash! –  Barbara Odanaka

SMASH_jacketmedium

(There were a lot of G alliterations in this story, so I forgave it not having a G in the title. Quite fun!)

Activity: Instruments

(Smash! Mash! Crash! ends with the phrase ‘Let’s Play!’, so we did, 0n our noisy instruments.)
